The following Monday, my mom is having an injection in her back...which is like same day surgery...so I'll be pretty busy with her that day...then...I need to get serious about finishing up and planning this graduation party.
Have you ever just wished for time to pass you by? This isn't me at all but I have so much emotion built up in me...that I just want to kiss June goodbye. Ok...I am taking a deep breath, there I feel much better.
Brittany is beginning to feel better with her nasty poison ivy...boy, can that stuff get ugly. Last night she took some Benadryl...she needed a good nights sleep. Hopefully she got it. Epsom Salts and an anti itch cream from Aveeno really made a difference yesterday. I also read that cool compresses and even an ice cube can help...we did the ice cube and low and behold it did calm the itch yesterday morning...she is getting a rather large patch on the back of her thigh...which we don't understand because she had knee shorts on the day we worked outside...who knows?
That is about it...on my agenda for today...grocery shopping. I am looking for a canner as well as I'll be picking strawberries on Friday...and I plan to make freezer jam for now and jam for winter as well.
Blessings for today!

I've been told that if you break out with poison ivy, then you're allergic, because not everybody that is exposed to it, gets it. In Hope's case, she is highly allergic and has to have shots or a prescription called "Topicort" gel. You might check with your doctor and see if he'll call it in. Also, when it starts oozing and gets on the sheets, it can spread that way. When Hope had it, I had to wash her sheets every day. She took lots of oatmeal baths, but this medicine is what actually cured it.
ReplyDeleteHave fun picking strawberries tomorrow. That would be so cool to do. I've never picked strawberries before.
Love Ya!
I am glad that her poison ivy is slowly but surely, going away. It does take time :(
ReplyDeleteWe are the same here at the cottage...slowly making our way to our usual routine :)
Blessings,
Maria
Dear Joyce,
ReplyDeleteI am just now getting my self back to blogging. I am sorry about your mom's back injection next week.
I do hope June passes by very fast for you.
Your Brittany is like my DH when it comes to Poison Ivy. When he gets it, it's almost impossible to cure it without a shot. I am glad to know about the ice. One thing we have tried and it seems to work well, but only if he uses it the same day, is a Poison Ivy soap, sold at health food stores.
Many blessings to you,
((((hugs))))

Hi Joyce. I am in a hotel room with David tonight. He needed to make a quick trip and wanted me to come with him this time. The kids are at home with grandma.
ReplyDeleteHave you tried putting baking soda on the itchy places? I have used that for bee stings and it instantly soothes the pain. Just wet the area or a q-tip and pat some soda on the area.
And remember - one step at a time:)
