If at first you don't succeed....

you know the rest. I am a woman who is trying to knit and crochet and it is frustrating me so very much. Through it all though...I am learning patience and to not give up when I get frustrated...even when I want to open up the door and throw my project out in the snow!

I have given up on knitting for a while. I just simply can't figure out how to fix my mistakes...like dropping a stitch...to be more exact. I have watched the videos on net...just doesn't click in my weary brain. So...I laid all that aside and picked up the crochet hook. I have been working on a hat. Oh my goodness, how frustrated I am but I am about to take another stab at it. I found out that the pattern I was using was English Crochet terms...not American...(had no idea there were so many forms of crochet)so after about 3 weeks of messing with it...tearing it completely out twice...I will again begin this project if it kills me. I'll post a picture WHEN I manage to figure it out.

I did manage another winter hat in about 6 hours...it was pretty fun and if I can hold on to Brittany long enough I'll take a picture and post it here as well.

Other than that...still catching up on laundry...should be done by this evening...only to have a whole basket waiting for me in the bathroom upstairs...ahhh...is that job every done?

Sorry for the long ramble...couldn't think of anything else to write today!

Blessings!
Joyce Marie

  1. I've tried to knit many times in my life. I even took lessons for months, but to no avail. I can crochet so fast that knitting seems like torture to me. I learned to crochet when I was 4 by my Grandmother, God bless her! I did take the knitting lessons when I was about 10, so it's not because I had an old brain, it just didn't click for me (how did you like that pun?! LOL). There are so many beautiful crochet patterns out there, you will be busy for years just working on those. There are some great free patterns on the web - just google it. If you ever need help with something, I'm your girl! I can usually figure out any pattern, even when they are written poorly. I've just been doing it for so long, it's second nature to me.

I'm so glad to see you posting again! I really missed you!!!

    Love, Julie
