I want her to have that official process of preparing for a job search. She is getting that this week. Last night, she had a good night for her first official night of her internship. She was pleased that they were expecting her. She was able to look at the whole situation with new eyes and was able to study the different teaching styles there. With a smile on her face she got in the car and talked a mile a minute telling us all of what was going on with her. She has a meeting tomorrow evening...and her private appointment with the studio director on Wednesday as well. She is so ready....
I won't bore you with the details of a first resume...but I will list her objective here for my records...
"I have been in love with the idea of teaching dance ever since I stepped foot on the dance floor. As the years have passed, my dreams have become reality as I have gained opportunities to take what I have learned and apply it to my students. I strive to make dance a joyful activity for students of all ages. With detailed technique and a love for performance, my hope is that my passion for dance will transfer to my students as I teach them the form of art that I have dedicated my life to."
I have a big pot of Italian sauce simmering on my stove...it smells so good! Our air today is very chilly but we have sunshine and for that too, I am thankful. How about you? What are you up to today?
Blessings!
Joyce Marie
That's such a milestone in our children's lives! It's almost like that makes them officially a part of the grown-up world.
ReplyDeleteI hope this is just the first step into her career. What a joy to be doing what you love!
your Italian sauce smells good! (in my mind)
It is amazing to see them as they grow up, right before your eyes :)
ReplyDeleteIt is with so much joy that you see their strengths develop and you take a step back and let their wings unfurl.
What a blessing to hear you express the love that you have for your beautiful daughter.
May Our Lord continue to bless her in her new journey!
Maria
Well, Joyce, what a wonderful feeling you must have knowing that your daughter has been taught well! What good experience for her. I loved how you shared her perspective. Quite a grown-up young lady! You have much to be proud of!
ReplyDeleteWe had a grocery store trip today, schooling, laundry, cleaning, and cooking. I think I can smell your sauce...MMMMMM!
Ok! Your comment made me crack up! Not that it was meant to be funny. Just that when we really NEED everything to go our way, life happens!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about us having to follow their schedules. That's what I did for about a year before Ted got his license. I was completely at his beck and call, because it was all church stuff he needed to go to.
I felt like my ministry was driving!
Think this thing through. Maybe you could fix dinner for lunch (your most nutritious meal), give her a really good snack right before she leaves, pack her a protein bar to go, and let her have soup or something light when she gets home. Just a thought.
Hang in there! It will become a routine before too long!
Hi Joyce, what a blessing this post was to me. I have worried about my DD's future. It's so nice to read what others have been through this journey we call HS. It gives me encouragement and hope for the future.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet resume!keep us updated, least for me, since we still have three years ahead of us.
((((hugs))))

It is such a blessing to see everything slowly fall into place....kind of shows you that God is always in control the whole time.
